The Lover and Wonderful Queen- Nakia

 “Behind every successful man is a woman”, this is a popular quote, statement easily identifiable via evidence, in this context, behind the successful reign of T’challa is a compassionate warrior queen Nakia.

Nakia a member of Hatut Zeraze(Dogs of War) or spy of Wakanda, her compassionate heart pushes her wish for Wakanda to provide aide to the rest of the world, the veil and mentality of hiding in plain sight must be eliminated. Her wish coincides with that of Kilmonger, but he wishes for violence and waging war on people in higher authorities who are oppressed the less privileged.  

Spies are positioned in various nations to ensure the safety of the Kingdom and to get information through undercover investigations to alert the Kingdom in the next move they should make to avoid being taken by surprise or being raided by strangers.

She is also the chief warrior of the River tribe of Wakanda and the ex of T’challa (according to a statement by Shuri sister of T’challa).

She is a woman of valour, intelligence and of great skills in combating. She was able to infiltrate the kidnapped women from Nigeria without the terrorist finding out she is different from the women they kidnapped. Also she was able to swiftly infiltrate the garden of the heart shaped herb for the herb without anyone recognizing her presence.

The name Nakia of an Egyptian origin, another school of thought says it has it origin in Arabic but they both have the same meaning which is pure and faithful, this gives a clue to the traits portrayed by Nakia in the movie. She stood by T’challa day and night, fighting the unseen battles just to bring back the love of her life to life, how she called his name, the inflections placed on the name T’challa, the emotions attached to her actions towards T’challa is everything a man would ever love to have in his partner.

 

Nakia is the unacknowledged hero of Wakanda, T’challa is always the talk of the town if the story or topic of Wakanda is mentioned but we forget this beautiful heart here, she is the surviving table on which Wakanda rests.

She is an assertive woman of her own and she proves this through her thoughts and actions. T’challa told her if she ain’t stubborn she would had been a great Queen but, Nakia replied intelligently; “I will make a great Queen because I am stubborn”. Yes she found love but she is not controlled by love, she was determined on her course, her loyalty to aide is the unshaken driven force in her life, she knew her abilities and passion and was not willing to be a stationary Queen, never willing to compromise because of love, this gives T’challa no option than honoring the decision of Nakia.

From the costume designer’s concept, Nakia was always in green so as her tribe, from a study on colors, green is mostly used to signify productivity and increase thus the character Nakia really fits the colors of her costume, they bring out the fruitful qualities the color green embodies in her.

Her decision of not agreeing to be a stationary Queen quickens T’challa to put up the first Wakanda International Outreach centre where the beautiful Nakia will oversee the Social Outreach department.

There is always a heavy block of truth that supports the idea of finding yourself; if you find yourself and go for it you end with true love you deserve.
